  1. Hoover High School ushered 616 seniors in the Class of 2022 into the world with a walk across a graduation stage at the University of Alabama Birmingham’s Bartow Arena Friday night. It was a return to normalcy of sorts after two years of holding outdoor ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic – at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in 2020 and the on-campus Buccaneer Stadium last year. Students, family members, and friends were shoulder to shoulder in Bartow Arena on Friday night to watch the Class of 2022 take their diplomas in their hands and walk into a world of opportunities. (Hoover Sun)
  2. Both Auburn and Alabama will be playing in the single-elimination portion of the SEC Baseball Tournament on Tuesday, May 24, in Hoover. Auburn is currently projected as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament by most college baseball bracketologists. Alabama has not lost a first-round game in Hoover since 2014 but did miss the tournament altogether from 2017 to 2019. (ABC 3340)
  3. Chandra and Patrick Harvey of Hoover used their free time in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to start a retail business. The Harveys named their print-on-demand online business JoyfulbyHarveyand their merchandise includes custom T-shirts, caps, cups, bags, and more. Their latest success includes becoming a licensed merchandise partner for the 2022 World Games. (WVTM 13)
