  1. Two Hoover natives are facing off in the NFL this Sunday. Marlon Humphrey of the Baltimore Ravens and George Pickens of the Pittsburgh Steelers will play against each other during Sunday's game. (Steelers Now)
  2. Ten local students accepted welding apprenticeship offers. The students of Jefferson State's Welding Technology program accepted the offers during a Wednesday signing event.   3. Most of Alabama's Republican congressional delegation, including U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer of Hoover, voted against an amendment that would ban earmark spending bills. The conference voted 52-158 against the proposed ban last week. (1819 News)
