Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:
- The City of Hoover School System was named by Forbes as one of Alabama’s best employers. Forbes partnered with market research company Statista and ranked employers in the 50 states and the District of Columbia by surveying 70,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. The school system, which has approximately 1,800 employees, came in at number four on the list. (AL.com)
- Hoover leaders are eyeing an old Sears building for a possible healthcare facility. While plans are in the early stages, the city’s healthcare authority recently hired an attorney to look into getting a certificate of need that would potentially pave the way for a healthcare facility at Riverchase Galleria. According to Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato, Hoover is the largest city in the state that does not have a hospital located in it. (WBRC)
- The Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an August Business After Hours event today, Aug. 25. Cahaba Dermatology will answer questions about skincare, anti-aging, body sculpting, and looking for a local spa treatment.
