Hoover, Rocky Ridge, Vestavia Hills, and Birmingham firefighters all responded to the complex. There were no injuries. (AL.com)
  2. The Hoover Public Library's Insatiable Readers book group has posted its recommended reads for May. Each month, the group focuses on a different nonfiction theme — this month's theme being travel. For a list of upcoming meetings, which take place one Saturday each month, click here. (Facebook)
  3. If you're in the market for a new home, take a look at this list of upcoming open houses in the Hoover area. On Sunday, head over to 1508 Bridgewater Ln. and check out the gorgeous 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath home.
