Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. Methodist leaders have broken their silence on whether a Hoover daycare that used hot sauce to punish infants and young children is still open. In July, allegations of the activity were reported and later confirmed by a pastor at the church. The Alabama Department of Human Resources then informed the public that the school was not licensed or registered as exempt from licensure. On Tuesday afternoon, Pastor Jimmy Bassham said that the facility "is not officially closed" but that the church has "no intention to resume." Click the link to see the full statement.
