Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- Yesterday morning, a multi-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 459 southbound near the 29-mile marker, just outside of Hoover. All lanes were shut down at the scene of the crash, while The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) had to control traffic after the accident occurred. For people on their morning commute to work, the traffic wait time was increased while authorities handled the situation's aftermath. (Trussville Tribune)
- Birmingham will be hosting the World Games this July, and you could have an opportunity to be a part of the action! The games will be looking for volunteers aged 16 and older to join their Hype Squad. The squad will perform a variety of fun tasks to keep the crowds entertained, such as tossing t-shirts, holding up clever signs, initiating cheers and chants, and dancing/hanging out with the mascots. Tryouts will be held this week at Homewood High School on May 26 at 5:00 p.m. and May 27 at 10:00 a.m. (WBRC)
