- My Eyelab has opened a new location in Hoover. The new location is a full-service retail eye care center that offers same-day eye exams and prescription eyewear. My Eyelab is located at 5413 Highway, Suite 103. My Eyelab is a retail brand of Now Optics. (Valdosta Daily Times)
- A captain and former lieutenant with the Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division have been arrested on corruption charges. Captain Deaundra Johnson and former lieutenant Centauria Olds were correctional officers at the Childersburg Community Work Center. It is unclear what led to the charges. Olds is being held in the Jefferson County Jail; Johnson is out on bond. (WVTM 13)
- The City of Hoover had to change the venue for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday. The event was originally scheduled to be celebrated outside at Hoover City Hall. The venue was changed to the Hoover Library Theatre due to inclement weather. (Hoover Sun)
