  1. Alec Etheredge has been named the interim general manager of Shelby County Newspapers, Inc. The company works on newspapers and magazines across Shelby County, including Hoover's Magazine. Etheredge worked previously as a reporter in each newsroom department after graduating from the University of Alabama. He is an APA-winning journalist and says that he looks forward to leading "one of the southeast's best newspapers." (Shelby County Reporter)
  2. Representative Gary Palmer of Hoover, among other representatives, spoke with AL.com about voting no on the 'burn pit' health care bill. The legislation, which enhances health care coverage for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits, was opposed by Alabama's two senators and three of Alabama's representatives.   3. A woman is searching for her biological father, who has ties to Alabama. The woman learned that her mother's husband wasn't her biological father when she was 11 years old, but when she moved back to the United States, she began searching for the man.
