Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. After three years of operating Mercy Deliverance Ministries out of her home, Antoinette "Toni" Vines is finally getting her own office space. The nonprofit has expanded dramatically in the three years since Toni started the organization. She says that it's a miracle. "I have been told by people in nonprofit development that it is almost unheard of." Toni credits part of the success to her religious devotion, and part of it to the planning of the organization, which was nearly 20 years in the making. Read on at the link. (Birmingham Times)
  2. SAW's BBQ has been named an iconic barbecue spot in the South. According to styleblueprint.com, a lifestyle website, the barbecue joint named after Mike Wilson (you'll have to click the link to see what SAW stands for if you don't already know) has earned a name for itself. The writer gave high praise to all the great barbecue and sauce available at SAW's. Check out the location on Riverchase Village if you haven't had a chance. (StyleBlueprint)
  3. The buffalo don't roam there, but you could be at home on one of these ranges. This list of five homes has a little something for everyone. From the affordable and cozy one-bedroom on Lorna Road listed at $89,900, to the stately and luxurious house on Scout Creek Drive, the skies won't be cloudy all day in these spots. Check them out at the link. (Hoover Patch)
