  2. Alabama's unemployment rate has hit a historic new low. The unemployment rate of 2.7 percent was hailed by Gov. Kay Ivey as a mark of the resiliency of Alabama's workforce. Additionally, average weekly wages have risen to a new record high of $1,004.65. Among those cities with the lowest unemployment rate, Hoover sits at 1.6 percent. (Alabama Political Reporter)
  3. Registration is open for the Hoover YMCA's Middle School Madness. The night of fun will take place on Jun. 24 and features fun, games, food, and much more for rising 6th-8th graders. Students can enjoy a safe and supervised night from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Register here. (Hoover YMCA via Facebook)
