  1. Looking for property? Patch put together a list of some open houses in the Hoover area. Spacious homes of 1,700, 2,600, or 4,200 square feet could be on your list of locations to tour.   2. The runoff election results are in, and local politicians want to cut down on negative ads. Katie Britt defeated Mo Brooks 63 percent to 37 percent in the U.S. Senate Primary race. Hoover Representative Gary Palmer made a statement against outside political organizations making disingenuous statements in negative political ads. (Yellowhammer News)
  3. Senator Tommy Tuberville joined business leaders and elected officials at the Chamber breakfast in Hoover. The Senator expressed his concerns about the economy, saying that the U.S. has entered a recession. He also spoke on the gun control bill currently being debated in the U.S. Senate. The breakfast, which took place on Friday, Jun. 17, was hosted by the Shelby County and Hoover Area Chambers of Commerce. (Shelby County Reporter)
