  1. The 2022 SEC Baseball Tournament continues in Hoover. While the week has been plagued by weather delays, the weekend forecast appears to be sunny. See where your team currently stands in the tournament at the link. (Saturday Down South)
  2. Brookwood High School has named its new head baseball coach ahead of the next school year. Assistant baseball coach Jacob Hamner will lead the team after former head coach Mike Bramblett stepped down from his baseball duties to focus solely on building up the Brookwood football program. The baseball team finished 14-19 overall last season, and 4-4 in AHSAA Class 6A, Region Area 7 play. (Patch)
  3. A townhome fire is under investigation in Hoover. Authorities say firefighters quickly brought the flames in the 2100 block of Lynngate Drive under control and that there were no injuries, though a few dogs were removed from the home. (WBRC)

  • In order to handle crises that may arise at special events, the Hoover Fire Department converted three ATVs into makeshift fire apparatus. The ATVs, in use this weekend at the SEC baseball tournament, each include a small pressurized extinguisher, a stretcher, and medical equipment. (Facebook)
