Hoover police arrested a woman after an 8-month-old child was left unattended in a car in the parking lot at the Galleria.
HOOVER, AL — A woman has been arrested after an 8-month-old child was left unattended in a car in the Macy's parking lot at the Riverchase Galleria Wednesday.
Police said a person who parked next to the woman's car noticed the child inside the car alone and called 911. The Hoover Police Department and Hoover Fire Department forced entry into the vehicle to rescue the child, who was evaluated by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
"Officers located the child’s grandmother inside the mall with three additional children," Capt. Keith Czeskleba of the Hoover PD said. "The grandmother was detained and transported to the Hoover City Jail."
