  1. NCAA Golf programs will be coming to town on the weekend of Sep. 19. The Hoover Invitational invites NCAA athletes to participate in the upcoming event. The University of Memphis head women's golf coach Jennifer Jordan announced the Hoover Invitational is among the 10 tournaments the team will attend.   2. Police are investigating a homicide that took place at the Marathon gas station on Highway 280. According to police, the shooting took place at 8:28 p.m. on Wednesday night. A woman and a man were in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation and then ended with the man shooting the woman, according to witnesses. Hoover Fire Department medics pronounced the woman dead on the scene. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
