Under Construction Ministries, located on 15th Ave. SW, is accepting new toiletries plus clean, gently used cold-weather gear, and also welcomes monetary donations to keep their outreach going.
   

• Soup giveaway warms hearts across Lanett (valleytimes-news.com) — Lanett neighbors in need can get free soup on December 20 at 1 p.m. Eastern on Magnolia Road near Mount Hermon Baptist Church, thanks to Courtney Cammon’s Bless the Streets Foundation. Cammon, who regularly organizes food giveaways in Lanett, LaFayette, and West Point, says the effort is about teaching that giving can matter more than receiving.
