• Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Rob Thomas to headline Huntsville Hospital Foundation fundraiser (rocketcitynow.com) — Madison residents should know that the 2026 Huntsville Classic will help fund an emergency department expansion at Madison Hospital, aiming to improve access for more than 50,000 patients a year. The Rob Thomas–headlined concert at Huntsville’s Orion Amphitheater will also support grief counseling for children and new heart‑care technology across the Huntsville Hospital system.
   

• IBCS Intercepts Surrogate Cruise Missiles in US Army Trial (thedefensepost.com) — A major US Army air and missile defense system is now being built at Northrop Grumman’s new full‑rate production facility in Madison tying the city directly into a multibillion‑dollar national defense upgrade. Recent tests in New Mexico showed the Integrated Battle Command System successfully intercepting surrogate cruise missiles, paving the way for wider deployment across the Army over the next decade.
   

• Dumas Disappearance: One Year Later (whnt.com) — Madison County authorities are now holding one suspect in the year-long investigation into Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.’s disappearance, after her transfer from Tennessee in July. Local investigators, family, and friends reflect on the unresolved abduction case, while police still seek suspect Sabrina Chambers and continue asking the public for any information that could move the case forward.
