- Three south Alabama groups are among 16 total organizations getting holiday grants from All In Credit Union. Dauphin Island Sea Lab will receive $20,000, Penelope House will receive $14,536, and Love All Pantry will receive $10,000. In total, the 16 organizations will receive $225,633 in funding — $200,000 of which comes from the All In Credit Union Board of Directors and the remaining comes from The Helping Hands Foundation. - The City of Mobile is throwing weight behind an effort to get a Trader Joe's in the area. On Thursday, the city shared a link to a petition on its official Facebook page, along with a message that stated "The City of Mobile is working to create a grassroots effort to bring Trader Joe's to Mobile." Residents interested in seeing a new Trader Joe's location in the neighborhood are asked to fill out this form. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- The Mobile Police Department says they arrested a man on multiple charges of burglary, drugs, and leaving a baby near drugs. On Wednesday, officers were called to the 2000 block of Summit Drive about some stolen items and found guns, drugs, and stolen items from previously reported storage unit burglaries. In addition, they found a two-month-old baby near drugs and returned the baby to its mother. Jason Secrest, 40, was arrested and charged with five counts of commercial burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and chemical endangerment of a child. (WKRG News 5)
