- A woman was shot while sitting on her front porch in Mobile. According to police, the victim stood up on her front porch at Oaklawn Homes after hearing gunshots and was grazed by a bullet. The woman, who did not see the shooter, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the incident. (WKRG News 5)
- A five-time state champion baseball coach has stepped down at Mobile Christian School. On Tuesday, Mobile Christian’s Talley Haines announced his resignation as the school’s athletic director and head baseball coach. “It was just time to move on and find something different to do,” Haines said. Previously, the coach had led the Leopards to five state titles in 11 years at the school, including the last two Class 4A titles. (AL.com)
- An inmate who was serving time for Mobile robberies was killed at an Alabama prison. 32-year-old Kenneth Earl Ray II was serving a life sentence at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer following a 2008 robbery conviction out of Mobile County. He was found on Monday after sustaining “sharp force injuries” during a reported assault by another inmate and was pronounced dead at 3:05 p.m. (WKRG News 5)
