I am going to get you all caught up on what's happening in and around Trussville today. First, let's get into the continuing saga surrounding the Brookside Police Department. More complaints about "policing for profit" have come in accusing the department of shady police practices. Read more about it below.
Here are some of the top stories in Trussville today:
- As I was saying above, lawsuits have started to roll down on the Brookside PD, and one of them actually calls for fines to be repaid to drivers. (AL.com)
- Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Pell City Thursday, which left the victim with an injured leg. (Trussville Patch)
- A 71-year-old Center Point woman died four days after being involved in a crash on 20th Avenue Northeast at 2nd Street Northeast in Center Point. (Trussville Tribune)
- A Lincoln man is the final of six defendants convicted in a drug trafficking case from the summer of 2021. (Alabama Patch)
