Let's first talk about the ongoing fiasco in Brookside concerning their "policing for profit" situation. Records show that the attorney for Brookside saw his salary increase more than 200 percent, strange for a town of just 1,200 people. ALsdo in the news, the Trussville City Council approved a contract with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society for pound services. Read all about it below.

- A Blount County man who was arrested in Springville last summer has been sentenced to 15 years on a federal weapons charge. (Trussville Patch)
- There is more news from the Brookside police fiasco. Town Attorney Mark Parnell saw his income from the town of 1,253 people rise 241 percent, bringing his total pay last year from Brookside to $72,115. (AL.com)
- The City of Trussville approved a contract with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society for animal control and pound services Tuesday. (Trussville Tribune)
