Trussville City Council Addresses Nuisance On Ash Circle

The Trussville City Council discussed a property nuisance in the community, which has been deemed unsafe.

TRUSSVILLE, AL β€” The Trussville City Council took action on a property within the city limits that has been deemed a nuisance. The property is located at 221 Ash Circle, according to a Trussville Tribune report.

The owner of the property, Conrex Residential Property Group 2013 4 Operating Company LLC, has been contacted multiple times by city officials, according to the council. The City Council learned that neither the owner/assessee or any contractor ever pulled a permit to repair or improve the residence.

The council listed ongoing physical hazards, including a rotting porch and stairs as well as unsecured doorways, which create "an imminent danger to human life and safety."

The owner received legal counsel that listed all safety hazards and permit requirements around December 15, 2021, according to the council.

The council decided that the city is authorized to take any one or all of the following actions:

  • Revoke any certificate of occupancy;
  • Board up the building;
  • Enter the dwelling to determine if repairs and/or demolition are required;
  • Order said repairs or demolition to be completed in 45-days, or city will undertake said repairs or demolition and assess land with costs thereof; and
  • Take any other actions to protect the health and safety of the public.
