Accident Involving School Bus Leaves One Dead In Fosters

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators are on the scene of a fatal accident in Fosters involving a Tuscaloosa County School System bus.

Authorities confirmed to Patch Wednesday morning that the two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 11 at Holly Springs Lane.
The Tuscaloosa County School System said in a statement that Bus 101 was involved in a traffic accident with Sipsey Valley Middle and High students on board at the time.

Superintendent Keri Johnson said all students were able to be transferred to another bus and taken to their schools, with nurses and emergency medical personnel on-site to evaluate students once they arrived.
She then said counselors are also available for any students who need support.
The identity of the fatality in the crash has not been released at this time.
This crash is also unrelated to another ongoing fatal traffic accident investigation involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 359 this morning.
