Alabama Boxing Hall Of Fame To Induct 2024 Class In Tuscaloosa

The Alabama Boxing Hall of Fame has announced it will induct its 2024 class on Friday, Aug. 16 at the Tuscaloosa River Market.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Boxing Hall of Fame has announced it will induct its 2024 class on Friday, Aug. 16 at the Tuscaloosa River Market.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a wide variety of inductees from all across the state, in addition to an induction ceremony featuring a full fight card.

Taking to the ring that night will be Tuscaloosa’s Deon “The Equalizer” Nicholson (20-1, 17 KO), who will face off against Sergio Jimenez (15-0-1, 13KO) in the main event.

The event will mark Skyy Boxing’s 30th anniversary and its 100th show.

Tickets are available for the event and are priced at $100 for VIP and $50 for general admission.

2024 Hall of Fame Inductees:

  • Pro Boxer: Otis Griffin (Troy)
  • Amateur Boxer: Charles Campbell (Mobile) and Wendell Charleston (Demopolis)
  • Old Timer: Izzy Jannazzo (Ensley) and Battling Bozo Hambright (Pell City)
  • Manager/Trainer/Promoter: Cheffy Reyna (Mobile) and TC Collins (Montgomery)
  • Support Personnel: Dave Godber (Birmingham) and Dr. David Williams (Tuscaloosa)
