Alabama Starting Offensive Lineman Kadyn Proctor Plans Transfer

Here's more on the latest high-profile transfer announcement for the Crimson Tide program.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — In another major blow to the Crimson Tide's roster, rising sophomore offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor has confirmed plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per multiple reports on Wednesday.

Considered by many as the top offensive tackle prospect in the latest recruiting cycle, Proctor was selected to the All-SEC Freshman Team after earning the Tide's starting job at left tackle during fall camp.

Proctor started 13 games for the Tide during his freshman campaign, logging 20 knockdown blocks across 743 snaps and earning SEC Freshman of the Week recognition for his play at Auburn.

Proctor was one of the top-rated offensive tackles in his class as a five-star recruit and the state of Iowa's top-ranked prospect, he was considered the the No. 5 player by 247Sports during the last recruiting cycle.

The hulking lineman — who comes in at 6'7" and weighing 360 pounds — chose Alabama on his signing day after originally committing to in-state Iowa.

His destination remains unannounced at this time.

Proctor joins the following players who were on the 2023 roster who have entered the portal or announced plans to do so.

  • Isaiah Hastings (DL) - Syracuse
  • Kendrick Blackshire (LB) - Texas
  • Eli Holstein (QB) - Pittsburgh
  • Monkell Goodwine (DL) - South Carolina
  • Anquin Barnes (DL) - Colorado
  • Miles Kitselman (TE) - Tennessee

The biggest gets for the Tide thus far by way of the portal has been four-star defensive lineman LT Overton, who is transferring from Texas A&M and four-star cornerback Domani Jackson from Southern Cal.

Alabama has also secured Texas A&M transfer offensive tackle Naquil Betrand.
