Former Alabama Standout Barrett Jones Selected For SEC Football Legends Class
Former Tide standout offensive lineman Barrett Jones has been selected to represent his alma mater in the 2024 SEC Football Legends Class.

TUSCALOOSA, Al — Former Alabama standout offensive lineman Barrett Jones has been selected to represent his alma mater in the 2024 Southeastern Conference Football Legends Class.

The SEC Office announced Tuesday that Jones, who played for the Crimson Tide from 2009 to 2012, was instrumental in securing three national championships during his time in Tuscaloosa.

Jones is among 16 former players recognized for their significant contributions to the sport, with the Legends Class set to be honored during the SEC Football “Weekend of Champions” on Dec. 6-7 in Atlanta.
During his collegiate career, Jones started 50 games, playing tackle, guard and center.

He was good enough to earn first-team All-America honors in his final two seasons and won the Outland Trophy in 2011 — presented annually to the nation's top interior lineman.
Jones also excelled in the classroom, becoming the first four-time Academic All-American in Alabama’s history with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
He would go on to be named to the 2012 Academic All-American of the Year across all sports and received both the NCAA Top 10 Award and a postgraduate scholarship that same year.
Jones was drafted by the St. Louis Rams and played in the NFL for three and a half years, including stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.
