ALDOT To Begin Painting Third Avenue East Bridge On Thursday
ALDOT on Thursday announced plans for a nighttime painting project on the Third Avenue East bridge over I-20/59 in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Thursday announced plans for a nighttime painting project on the Third Avenue East bridge over I-20/59 in Tuscaloosa.

ALDOT says the bridge painting is intended to prevent corrosion and rust, with work expected to begin Thursday, Aug. 8.

The project will then continue for approximately five weeks.
ALDOT went on to say that the contractor is only allowed to close the center and right lanes between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to reduce the impact on traffic.

Lane closures will also not be allowed on weekends when the University of Alabama has a home football game.
