TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Monday announced a project to resurface and place new guardrail on a busy portion of Interstate 20/59.

The work will be conducted from the Greene County line to near Exit 62 in Tuscaloosa County, beginning Monday, July 28.

S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $3.22 million.
ALDOT says the $3.22 million, seven-mile project, which was awarded to Tuscaloosa's S.T. Bunn Construction Co., is expected to improve mobility and safety.

The project is slated for completion in late fall and at least one lane on I-20/59 will remain open in each direction throughout its duration.
ALDOT cautions drivers to expect possible delays and encourages motorist to observe work-zone speed limits.
