ALDOT: Brookwood Resurfacing Project Set To Begin Next Week
The project will include sidewalk installation and traffic signal upgrades, with work scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 11.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) announced Wednesday that it will resurface and improve access management on State Route 216 from near Covered Bridge Road to George Richmond Parkway in Brookwood.

The project will include sidewalk installation and traffic signal upgrades, with work scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 11.

Hoover-based Bulls Construction Group was awarded the project at $1.46 million.
The first phase of the project will include the installation of construction signs and is expected to continue through the end of the year, weather permitting.

ALDOT says the improvements will attempt to enhance safety and mobility for those traveling to the nearby school and local businesses.
The contractor for the project will not be allowed to begin work until 9 a.m. each day to reduce the impact to traffic and no work will be conducted on weekends when the University of Alabama has a home football game.
