Arrest Made After Juvenile Killed In Wednesday Shooting On 2nd Avenue
An arrest has been made in a Wednesday night shooting that left one person dead.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β An arrest has been made in a Wednesday night shooting in Tuscaloosa that left a juvenile dead.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media early Thursday morning that Tuscaloosa Police officers responded around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night to the 3100 block of 2nd Avenue on the initial call of a shooting.

Once on scene, investigators found that a male victim, who has not been publicly identified by name, had been shot and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
The victim, who was identified only as a juvenile, did not survive his injuries.

Kennedy then said that after processing the scene, interviewing witnesses, and locating persons of interest, Mikal Rashaun Kirkman, 20, was charged with one count of murder.
Kirkman was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond, per Aniahβs Law.
Kennedy then said the motive for the fatal shooting is still under investigation.
This is the fourth shooting reported in Tuscaloosa County in the last week and the second fatal shooting, following a man being shot and killed in front of his 10-year-old daughter in Holt on Sunday.
