Arts Council Of Tuscaloosa Extends Deadline For Small Grants Program
The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa announced this week it has extended the deadline for its annual Small Grants Program to Tuesday, Oct. 7.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa announced this week it has extended the deadline for its annual Small Grants Program to Tuesday, Oct. 7, with the aim of providing more time for local artists and nonprofit groups to seek funding for arts projects.

Applications will now be accepted for projects scheduled between Oct. 7 and May 15, 2026.

The nonprofit says grant recipients will be announced by Oct. 31, with awards capped at $1,000 for organizations and $750 for individual artists.
The Small Grants Program supports a wide range of work, including exhibits, festivals, residencies, staff training, and productions.

Professional artists may apply for pilot or short-term projects and opportunities such as workshops, conferences, or apprenticeships with master artists.
The Arts Council says more than $140,000 has been awarded to local artists and organizations since the program began in 1986.
Teachers can also apply by Oct. 7 for the Arts in Education Grant, administered through the Community Foundation of West Alabama, to fund arts-related projects taking place during the same window.
