Tuscaloosa County Foster & Adoptive Parents Association Asking For Gift Card Donations

The Tuscaloosa nonprofit is asking the community for help providing meals for children who spend time at the county DHR office.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Foster and Adoptive Parents Association is asking the community for help providing meals for children who spend time at the county Department of Human Resources (DHR) office during the day.

In a public announcement this week, the nonprofit said DHR staff is in need of gift cards to purchase food for children who must remain at the Tuscaloosa office while awaiting placement or services.

The group said the greatest need is for gift cards to businesses like McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A and Little Caesars.

Children may spend hours or full days at the DHR office during transitions or emergencies, and meal gift cards help ensure they receive food quickly and easily, with minimal costs to the agency.

The Tuscaloosa County Foster and Adoptive Parents Association also collects kits year round that include toiletries, towels and many of the things a new foster kid needs.
