The portrait pays tribute to Goode’s life and his battle with ALS, highlighting his legacy of perseverance and advocacy.

The native of Town Creek was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 1983 and is perhaps best known from his playing days for posting 297 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns in the Tide's 1984 matchup with Boston College before suffering a major knee injury in the third quarter.

He would go on to be selected in the seventh round of the 1988 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his former Alabama head coach, Ray Perkins.

After a brief NFL career with the Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos, Goode served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for both the New York Giants and St. Louis Rams before being diagnosed with ALS in 2001.

Donations from the evening will support the Kerry Goode Foundation, which advances care and awareness for families affected by the disease.
