BUY For RISE Fundraiser Coming Up Later This Month
The University of Alabama RISE Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the annual BUY for RISE fundraiser later this month.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama RISE Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary later this month with the annual BUY for RISE fundraiser.

The two-day event will be on Oct. 18 and 19, with local retailers providing discounted shopping for brand-new items, including clothing and home décor.

The RISE Center is part of the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences and provides early childhood education for children ages eight weeks to five years, serving roughly 100 children, more than half of whom have varying abilities.
Participating businesses will include Effie’s, Lou and Co., Bossi, Wonderfully Made and Confetti Interiors. Attendees will be able to purchase items at significant discounts—up to 75% off the lowest marked prices.

The fundraiser will kick off with a preview party on Oct. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the RISE Center, which is located at 600 Johnny Stallings Drive. The preview event will include light refreshments, beverages and music.
Tickets for the preview party are priced at $100 for a "golden ticket," which covers early entry at 4:30 p.m. General admission will cost $10 at 5 p.m., with tickets available for purchase in advance at the RISE Center.
The RISE Center says the general sale on Oct. 19 will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is free for all attendees, with items discounted by 90%.
“RISE Center is looking forward to celebrating BUY for RISE’s 21st year,” RISE Center Assistant Director Riane Sullivan said.“For two decades, the Tuscaloosa community and merchants have generously supported this fundraiser, ensuring that children with varying abilities receive services at no cost to their families.”
