Capital Murder Arrest Made In Fatal Holt Shooting

An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man in Holt early Sunday morning.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man in Holt early Sunday morning.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media Sunday night that Tuscaloosa Police officers responded to the initial shooting call around 1:45 a.m. in the 4600 block of Virginia Drive in Holt.

Kennedy said when officers arrived they found that Jakeria Rashaad May, 35, had been shot multiple times during an altercation at his residence. He was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and died at the hospital.

Kennedy said that after investigators interviewed witnesses, 30-year-old Terrelle Devonte Williams was developed as a suspect and located by investigators along with members of the U.S. Marshalls Task Force Sunday morning.

Williams was charged with capital murder and is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.

Kennedy said the capital murder enhancement was due to the victim being shot and killed in front of his 10-year-old daughter.
