Kennedy then said that after investigators interviewed witnesses and processed the scene, 22-year-old Gredrick Agnew was identified as a suspect.

"The victims were inside the residence after the suspect had been asked to leave a small party or get together," he said. "The suspect fired into the residence through an open door from outside the residence striking the victims."

Kennedy explained that investigators obtained capital murder arrest warrants for Agnew due to the alleged murder of Ryans, with the underlying felony of firing into an occupied dwelling.

Agnew fled the scene after the shooting, Kennedy said, and investigators, aided by the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, began searching for Agnew in multiple counties.

He was located in Marengo County on Sunday and taken into custody.

Agnew is currently being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond on the capital murder charge.

Kennedy said Agnew will also receive numerous additional charges after consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.
