Presented by alumna Rebecca Todd Minder, the gift represents the second large donation made by the class, second only to the $5,200 donated for the school’s Ready-to-Work Program.

“The Class of 1984 was the first one to go all four years in the new school during the Federally mandated integration,” Minder said. “And we were a powerhouse 6A school. Our class of more than 600 graduates is tightly knit and we want to give back to the school that helped all of us succeed as young adults. The current students at Central are our future and we want to provide for them and lift them up when we can.”
Minder said the first donation made by the Class of 1984 came when the group of alumni turned 55 years old. This saw Minder ask her former classmates to donate $55 or $5.50 and received over $5,000 in contributions for the Ready-to-Work program.

“After we made the first donation, we gave a shout-out to the other classes to also make contributions and I know several have done so. We hope to make this donation a normal part of our future reunions," Minder said.
