A Centreville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in northern Tuscaloosa County.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Centreville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in northern Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Thursday on Alabama Highway 69 when the 2019 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 37-year-old Richard J. Whaley left the roadway and struck several trees.

ALEA said Whaley was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred near the 172 mile marker, approximately 23 miles north of Northport, and remains under investigation.
