At one time, the Northport location was one of 13 in Alabama, with the next-closest restaurants being in the Birmingham area.

Like many buffet restaurant concepts, the pizza chain was reportedly hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and was forced into bankruptcy in 2021.

Known for its buffet-style pizza and family atmosphere, the Cicis Pizza brand was founded in 1983, Coppell, Texas, before growing to operate nearly 300 restaurants in over 20 states.
