City Of Tuscaloosa Collects Over 1,000 School Supplies For Parking Tickets

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa this week presented Tuscaloosa City Schools (TCS) with a school supply donation collected during the overtime parking tickets drive.

Tuscaloosa residents in July and August had the opportunity to pay off $19 overtime parking tickets with school supplies valued at $10.

The city said it dismissed 249 overtime parking tickets through the initiative, with residents donating a total of 1,087 supplies for the drive's sixth year.
This marked an increase of more than 300 items from last year.

TCS will distribute the donated supplies to local students in need.
