City Of Tuscaloosa To Stop Recycling Plastic Film Starting Next Week
Tuscaloosa's Environmental Services Department will no longer be able to recycle plastic film, due to processing regulations.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa on Tuesday announced that its Environmental Services Department will no longer be able to recycle plastic film, due to processing regulations.

The city says the new policy will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 27.

The City of Tuscaloosa then pointed out that it offers free curbside recycling that is collected on the same day as garbage pick-up. The city also offers over 10 drop-off locations.

Here's a list of examples of items that will no longer be accepted:
- Grocery bags
- Bread bags
- Zip-top bags
- Dry-cleaning bags
- Cracker and cereal box liners
- Wrap from household products like paper towels
- Plastic shipping envelopes, bubble wrap and air pillows
