Community Foundation Of West Alabama Gives $50K In Scholarships
The Community Foundation of West Alabama (CFWA) on Tuesday announced that 14 local students have received a total of $50,000 in scholarships

TUSCALOOSA, AL β The Community Foundation of West Alabama (CFWA) on Tuesday announced that 14 local students have received a total of $50,000 in scholarships.

βWe at the Community Foundation are happy to be a support of our young people as they continue their education," CFWA President Glenn Taylor said. "Many of these scholarships have been presented for more than 20 years."

Taylor said several families have established scholarships in memory of loved ones and explained that those interested in establishing a scholarship or making contributions to existing funds can contact the nonprofit.
He then said contributions are fully tax-deductible and can be made anytime.

Along with its scholarships, the CFWA annually distributes more than $1 million to charitable causes across its nine-county service area.
