The Northport eatery is the only Cookie Plug in the Tuscaloosa area and only one of two in Alabama, with the other restaurant located in Hoover.

It is unclear if the closure will also impact Tropical Smoothie Café.

In the post shared on Friday, the business thanked customers for their support since opening and reflected on its time in the community.

“It has been an amazing ride,” the announcement said. “From our very first cookie to our last, we’ve enjoyed serving our customers and being part of this community. ... While it’s tough to close this chapter, we leave with full hearts and many great memories,” the post continued. “Thank you for being part of our journey — we truly appreciate you."

Cookie Plug did not specify the reason for the closure and no future plans for the location have been announced.
