Crimson Tide Football Names 2025 Team Captains

Here's a look at this year's team captains, who were voted on by the Crimson Tide teammates.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, offensive lineman Parker Brailsford, defensive lineman Tim Keenan and linebacker Deontae Lawson have been voted team captains by their teammates for the 2025 season.

Simpson, a junior from Martin, Tennessee, won the starting quarterback job during spring practice and was one of 58 play-callers named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List.

Brailsford, a transfer from Washington who started all 13 games for Alabama in 2024, earned second team All-American honors from the FWAA following his first season in Tuscaloosa.

Keenan is a senior from Birmingham who is expected to anchor the Crimson Tide’s defensive front after starting every game last season and landing on the 2025 Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List.

Lawson, a senior from Mobile, returns as Alabama’s leading tackler and one of the Southeastern Conference’s top linebackers.

Along with Keenan, Lawson was also named to the Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List.

The Crimson Tide will open the 2025 season Aug. 30 at Florida State.
