Crimson Tide QB Julian Sayin To Enter Transfer Portal

TUSCALOOSA, AL — In the latest blow to the Crimson Tide during the earliest days of the Kalen DeBoer Era, former five-star freshman quarterback and early enrollee Julian Sayin plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per multiple reports.

Sayin was considered by many to be the top quarterback in his class and one of the top prospects in the country, finishing his high school career with 7,824 yards, 85 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

The news also comes the day after former Washington quarterback Austin Mack announced he would transfer to play for his former coach at Alabama.

The Carlsbad, California native signed with Alabama over Ohio State, Texas and 22 other offers.

During practice for the Rose Bowl with Michigan, Sayin dressed out in a No. 7 jersey and practiced with the team in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff semifinal.

Sayin's transfer destination has not been announced at this time.

Sayin joins the following players who were on the 2023 roster who have entered the portal or announced plans to do so.
