Crimson Tide Standouts Stack Up National Honors After Big Road Win

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama football earned several national accolades Tuesday following the Crimson Tide's dominant performance at Wisconsin.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe and punter James Burnip were each honored individually, while the Crimson Tide's entire offensive line received team recognition.

Burnip, Alabama’s punter, was named the Ray Guy Award’s Punter of the Week after logging a standout performance with five punts totaling 246 yards, averaging 49.2 yards per kick.

Burnip also executed three punts of over 50 yards, including a season-long 64-yarder, and landed four punts inside the Wisconsin 20-yard line.

Milroe received multiple accolades for his contributions, including being named Maxwell Player of the Week by the Maxwell Football Club, the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week and Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Milroe was also recognized as a Manning Award "Star of the Week" and received an honorable mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which follows his selection as SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

In the blowout road win over Wisconsin, the junior quarterback from Katy, Texas, compiled five touchdowns, including three passing and two rushing, on his way to 271 yards of total offense.

In the passing game, Milroe went 12-for-17 for 196 yards, in addition to 75 rushing yards on 14 carries.

The Alabama offensive line, consisting of Tyler Booker, Parker Brailsford, Elijah Pritchett, Kadyn Proctor and Jaeden Roberts, was named the Outland Trophy’s Players of the Week.

The offensive line was honored for producing 34 combined knockdown blocks and allowing only one sack and one quarterback pressure as Alabama’s offense totaled 407 yards, including 181 rushing yards and 226 passing yards.
