A Duncanville man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Friday night on east of Tuscaloosa on Slayton Road near Double Gate Estate.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Duncanville man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Friday night on east of Tuscaloosa on Slayton Road near Double Gate Estate.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the crash occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Friday, when a 2009 Toyota Matrix driven by Nathaniel T. West, 61, left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned.

ALEA said West was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, which was approximately six miles east of the city of Tuscaloosa.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
