In the wake of the fatal shooting, Witherspoon's sister Tamil Witherspoon started the GoFundMe and told Patch Wednesday, "the pain is heavy and the grief feels unbearable."
The fundraising goal for the GoFundMe is set at $6,500.
"I never imagined I’d be planning a funeral for someone so full of life, laughter, and love," she added on the GoFundMe page. "We are asking for any support you can give to help us lay him to rest with dignity and peace. Every donation, prayer, and share means the world to us during this heartbreaking time."
