Cosby first transferred to Wake Forest for the 2024-25 season, before making the move to Kennesaw State University in Georgia to play for former Alabama standout and Crimson Tide assistant coach Antoine Pettway.

"Please help Davin & his family in any way you can," Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats said on Wednesday. "Davin was one of the best young men I have ever been around and was one of the best teammates, bringing a smile to everyone’s face! Our Alabama Family will help out in any way!"

According to the GoFundMe, which has already raised $21,373 toward its $40,000 goal, Cosby's injuries required two emergency surgeries that were reportedly successful.

However, Cosby's family says he now faces a long and challenging road as he works toward returning to full strength and mobility.

"Davin has always embodied resilience, discipline and determination both on and off the court," the GoFundMe says. "Now, he need the unwavering support of his community more than ever."

Cosby's mother is self-employed and has reportedly paused her work to be by his side throughout recovery, along with providing vital care, encouragement, and emotional strength.

The GoFundMe campaign is raising money to cover hospital bills and medical expenses, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, travel, accommodations and meals, and lost wages during his mother's time off.
