Historic Tuscaloosa Gearing Up For Annual Holiday Open House
Historic Tuscaloosa will host its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Historic Tuscaloosa will host its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., inviting the community to step back in time and celebrate the season at five of the city’s most cherished landmarks.

The free event offers guests a chance to explore Tuscaloosa’s historic homes and museums beautifully decorated for the holidays, while enjoying live music, children’s activities, photos with Santa, and complimentary museum access.

Participants can visit each of Historic Tuscaloosa’s featured properties:
- The Old Tavern (500 Nick’s Kids Avenue)
- Battle-Friedman Home (1010 Greensboro Avenue)
- Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion (1305 Greensboro Avenue)
- Murphy-Collins Museum (2601 Paul W. Bryant Drive)
- McGuire-Strickland House (2828 6th Street)
“This event is the perfect opportunity for those who have never visited our historic properties—or for anyone looking for a beautiful, festive backdrop for Christmas photos,” Historic Tuscaloosa Executive Director William Hawkins said. “It’s a wonderful way to bring the community together, celebrate the season, and share the stories that make Tuscaloosa so special.”
