A Jefferson County man is behind bars after a weekend police pursuit in Tuscaloosa that damaged two vehicles in the process.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β A Jefferson County man is behind bars after a weekend police pursuit in Tuscaloosa that damaged two vehicles in the process.

Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told Patch that a TPD officer Saturday night observed a Dodge Challenger driving recklessly near University Boulevard and Campus Drive.

Taylor said the driver nearly hit two vehicles and an officer, before traveling toward Jack Warner Parkway and onto McFarland Boulevard. She then said the driver caused an undetermined number of accidents along the way.
Two cars were also damaged near Marr's Spring.

"The pursuit continued through Vance, Helena, and the Hoover area," she said. "We terminated but other agencies took over along the way, with Homewood Police eventually blocking his car and taking him into custody."
Taylor said Homewood Police charged Tramello Evans, 20, from Vestavia Hills, with felony attempting to elude and reckless endangerment.
